“THE LONG LONG HOLIDAY”, PRODUCED BY LES ARMATEURS AND DISTRIBUTED BY CYBER GROUP STUDIOS, RECEIVES BEST CHILDREN TV PROGRAM AWARD

17 February 2016

Paris, February 17th 2016, “The long Long Holiday” (10×26’ or 5×50’ HD CGI), produced by Les Armateurs,
distributed by Cyber Group Studios, and focusing on the lives of children in France during the Second World War, was awarded as “Best Children TV Program” by the prestigious Paris Radio and Television Club (France).

The Radio and Television Ceremony is considered as one of the most prestigious festival that rewards programs and personalities that contributed most to “cultural enrichment” during the past year. The 21st edition took place on Monday 8th 2016 in Paris (France) and “The long Long Holiday” received the award of the “Best Children TV Program”.

“The long Long Holiday” (10×26’ or 5×50’) is a TV series focusing on the Second World War from the point of view of children. Produced by Les Armateurs (the company behind “The Triplets of Belleville,” Michel Ocelot’s “Kirikou” franchise, “Ernest and Celestine”) for France TV and Canal Plus and distributed worldwide by Cyber Group Studios, the series targets 6-12 and their families, and first aired in May 2015, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.

“The long Long Holiday” recounts the daily life of 2 kids, brother and sister, who are left at their grandparents’ house near the Normandy coast at the beginning of World War II. As the war rumbles on, weeks become five years. This series sheds new light on a unique historical context – a war epic, patriotic actions, etc.– viewed through the eyes of two young urban children who know nothing of life in the country, and who, despite the war, will experience the most wonderful adventures while coming into contact with nature and making new friends.

Ivan Rouveure, General Manager & Line Producer at Les Armateurs says: “We are very proud of this prize, which rewards a risk-taking saga on World War II as seen through the eyes of little children. Thanks to its wide-ranging appeal, The long Long Holiday succeeded in creating a dialog among generations in a world in crisis. The high audience share and the viewers’ enthusiasm are proof that TV for children can propose entertaining, smart, and high-quality programs. We believe that this very successful, original ten-episode series demonstrates the fact that a chronological serial television program can create a “rendez-vous”, loyalty among the audience. “

Pierre Sissmann, President of Cyber Group Studios says: “It is such an honor and a pleasure to distribute such a beautifully produced program, which is not only a great piece of entertainment but sheds light on a major part of our European history.”

In 2015 “The long Long Holiday” was officially selected to be part of Annecy Animation Film Festival (France), Totally Serialized Festival (UK) and Chicago International Children’s Film Festival (USA).
In 2016, the TV series is also selected to be part of the Internationals Trick film-Festival (Stuttgart) as well as the International Film Festival for Kids (Montreal) and it is also presented to the International Emmy Awards.
The series has already been acquired in France by France Televisions and Canal+, in Germany by ZDF, in Switzerland by RTS, in Denmark by DR as well as by TV5 and is currently in discussion in countries such as the USA, Canada, Brazil, Sweden, etc… with broadcasters to be announced shortly.assions of my professional life, music and kids and family entertainment.
